And the Scariest Movie is...

So I have polled a number of friends and family on what was the scariest movie they saw as a kid and their all time favourite scary movie. I also added a list of movies I will never watch as I can't even watch the trailer let alone the whole movie.

Scariest movie as a kid:

1 Rosemary's Baby
2 The Wizard of Oz
3 House of Wax
4 The Haunting (1963)
5 The Shining

Favourite scary movie:
1 The Thing
2 Psycho
3 Dracula (1931)
4 Alien
5 The Exorcist

Movies I cannot bring myself to watch:
1 Snakes on a Plane
2 Arachnophobia
3 The Exorcist*
4 Anaconda
5 The Fly (1958)*

As you can see there is no one scary movie we could all agree on but in our household "The Haunting" 1963 is in our childhood memories as very creepy.

I have seen both "The Fly" and "The Exorcist" but can't watch either even with TV commercials.
