Okay I admit it, I am so over peacock feathers. For the past few years they have shown up at fund raisers, wedding receptions and store fronts as decor.
Then I discovered paper feathers over at the Freshly Found blogsite. Swoon, the possibilities are end less: kraft paper, old maps, sheet music, origami paper and my old standby tea stained coffee filters.
The one caution is if the event or promotion is outdoors - paper anything is a risky venture.
But I digress. Think dual purpose: an escort card that doubles as a bookmark favor. A backdrop for a photo booth with various beaks as props.
Why not make large paper feathers as a spring window display?
Come back Friday and I'll show you my take on paper feathers.

Hello Blog & 2012
To say the least, the month of December 2010 was the worst month in our family history. We had two blows that left us struggling to pick up the pieces.
Early in December we learned that my brother Alan had cancer - a very radical cancer. Not since the lose of my older brother and the passing of my Dad had I felt so useless. Alan has young children and I could see the toll it had on him, his terrific wife and the kids.
The second blow was to learn that my Mum had suddenly passed early on Boxing Day 2010. We were all devastated. While most would say she lived to be 90 years young we all thought she'd be a centenarian like her dear Mum.
I can report today Alan has gone into remission and for so many reasons December 2011 was a wonderful month of family and cheer.
So after a year hiatus, I am here ready to go - full of event ideas and hope for you and yours for 2012!
