My Take - Mason Jars

Sorry I'm a bit late with my post; my Lab was very ill yesterday. I'll spare you the gory details but we await blood test results.

I am a bit sleep deprived but enjoy my ode to mason jars. In this case I used the tiny jam ones because they are so damn cute.

For tattoo girl - a goth look from pantyhose. Yes ladies pantyhose are sheer, sometimes textured, come in many colours and can be spared from the garbage bin for one last hurrah. I hate to think how many pairs of pantyhose I have thrown out over the years because of that one unslightly run.

DIY is so easy you'll wonder why no one thought of this before. Upscale your pantyhose, create a confetti bomb or create a punched collar. See you on the weekend for the instructions.

Pantyhose Goth Mason Jar

Materials:
Jam Mason Jar
Pantyhose (Shade Midnight Grey)
Scissors
1 small twist tie
1 Small elastic band
Glitter stickers or optional glitter chipboard shape (see picture)
Tape
LED tealight

First caution, pantyhose is predominantly made of polyester so use only a LED tealight for illumination. Or for a different colour cast you could use one those mini glow sticks by attaching it to the centre of the lid insert with some thread and tape.

Attach your glitter stickers to the front of the jar. Yes kids there is a front and back on most jars.

Inspect you clean pantyhose for runs or snags and use the good leg. With your scissors cut off the bottom just above the heel. Take your twist tie and wrap as tightly as you can to make the bottom of your cover leaving about 1/2 inch of material. Slide your mason jar into the leg and make sure the bottom of the jar is centred on the gathered bottom of the hose. Take your small elastic (jar pictured is a screw top) and slide it over the hose and align it on the top of the last rim. Cut the hose leaving about 1/2 inch of material.

Screw the lid on to make sure the rubber band is not showing and the hose is taut. To secure the bottom untie the twist tie and tape the bottom material to the centre of the bottom of the jar making sure the hose is taut. To hide the taped bottom put in a few pebbles or in my case seaglass to cover the bottom.

Throw in your LED tealight and admire your goth illumination.
